I am a great fan of music and particularly background music...but this was so loud it was unbearable. I watched a number of people leave Spiegel once the music was turned up but didn’t seem to deter the staff. We asked on three occasions for the music to be turned down, it was turned down slightly once and then turned up again within minutes. We also had issues with drink orders not being served at all after 3 requests we finally got them but not what was asked for. I put this down to them not being able to hear us because of the loud music. On a positive note the food was very good but the lack of consideration with the loud music ruined our night. If you want to be a nightclub don’t advertise as a restaurant/bistro or become one later in the evening not during meal times.
